Meet Carlos Certucha, Corporate Accounting Manager in Mexico

Carlos Certucha Llano is our hardworking Corporate Accounting Manager in the Mexico team at Biz Latin Hub, based in Mexico City. In this role, Carlos is responsible for the smooth, efficient functioning of the office through a range of administrative, financial and managerial tasks.

Carlos has experience in handling a wide range of administrative and executive support related activities, providing core accounting advice to companies doing business in Mexico, and addressing organizational and administrative challenges that arise in the Mexico office.

Background in corporate accounting, imports and exports, and supply distribution

Carlos studied Accounting at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. He spent 12 years living in US cities Dallas and Houston entering new markets for Hispanic products. He gained extensive experience and knowledge of importing and exporting wine from Spain and Portugal into the US, adding diversity to his professional experience and development. Carlos speaks English and Spanish fluently and has worked closely as a Supplier for some of the largest corporations in the US, including Wal-mart, HEB in San Antonio, and Wholesalers across the country.

Before beginning with us at Biz Latin Hub, Carlos had the opportunity to work as Operations Director in a Herbal Tea Factory in Puebla, Mexico. There, he managed import and export operations, and learned about the manufacturing process and complexity of an IMMEX company – a Mexican manufacturing company wholly owned by a foreign parent under the Industría Manufacturera Maquiladora y de Servicio de Exportación programme.

As our Corporate Accounting Manager in Mexico, Carlos explains that “the most interesting part of my job is that every day you run into a new, different client with different needs. Being able to support them is very gratifying, especially when you know they are interested in investing in your country and looking for new global opportunities.”

In 2019, Carlos was part of the team who earned an A+ accreditation on behalf of Biz Latin Hub with the Better Business Bureau, an organization that assesses and evaluates companies’ responsiveness to their own clients.

Carlos has also been heavily involved in Biz Latin Hub’s engagement with prominent industry, government and other professional connections in Mexico, including the ANZMEX Business Council, an organization aimed at promoting commercial relations between Australia, New Zealand and Mexico.

Outside the office…

In his leisure time, Carlos very much enjoys spending time with family. “We love to visit museums and all kinds of events going on in our great Mexico City, a place you definitely never be bored.”

Carlos is also a wine enthusiast, with a particular taste for Spanish wines from Ribera del Duero, Spain.
