Senior Accountant

Our client is currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Accountant to join their Finance & Accounting team in Costa Rica.

This position is ideal for an accounting professional who is eager to grow within a fast-paced and innovative environment. The selected candidate will support key accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute to processes that support both operational and strategic decision-making.

In this role, you will join a growing SaaS company, collaborating closely with the finance team and working directly with leadership while supporting core accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the monthly and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate accounting records within the ERP system (NetSuite).
• Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Support revenue accounting, including deferred revenue schedules and related entries.
• Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and internal management reports.
• Assist with internal, external, and tax audits by preparing documentation and responding to requests.
• Monitor cash activity and assist with treasury-related tasks.
• Contribute to process improvements and the maintenance of internal controls.

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in general accounting.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Solid knowledge of general accounting principles (IFRS or US GAAP).
• Experience supporting month-end close processes and reconciliations.
• Experience using accounting systems or ERP platforms (NetSuite is preferred).
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with billing, accounts receivable, and collections.
• Exposure to revenue recognition processes.
• Previous experience in fast-growing or technology/SaaS environments.
