Senior Accountant

About the Role
We are seeking a technically strong and client-oriented Senior Accountant to manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring full compliance with accounting and tax regulations while delivering high-quality financial information and advisory support.

This role is ideal for a proactive professional with strong technical expertise and leadership capabilities, who can oversee multiple client engagements, guide junior team members, and communicate complex financial matters clearly to clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee accounting operations for a portfolio of clients
• Review and ensure accuracy of financial records, reports, and statements
• Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and tax regulations
• Lead the preparation and review of financial statements and statutory reports
• Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns (income tax, VAT, withholding tax, ICA, etc.)
• Supervise and support junior accountants, providing guidance and quality control
• Identify and resolve complex accounting discrepancies and issues
• Support and lead audit processes, ensuring proper documentation and compliance
• Act as a main point of contact for clients, providing technical accounting and tax guidance
• Manage multiple priorities and ensure deadlines and service quality standards are consistently met
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements

Requirements

• Spanish (Native) and English (Intermediate preferred)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
• 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience (preferably in outsourcing or consulting environments)
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS and/or local GAAP) and Colombian tax regulations
• Proven experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax filings
• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Experience managing multiple clients simultaneously
• Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior team members
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to clients

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in client-facing roles within professional services or outsourcing firms
• Exposure to tax and statutory audits, including leading audit processes
• Ability to provide strategic insights based on financial data
• Strong process improvement mindset and experience implementing efficiencies
