Job title: Head of Data Engineering Services – LATAM

Location: Medellin

Are you an accomplished Data Engineering Leader with a passion for building and managing high-performing teams? An agile and expanding data and analytics consultancy, currently thriving in the US and UK, is extending its footprint into Latin America. We are seeking a dynamic Head of Data Engineering Services – LATAM in Medellín, Colombia. 

What You Will Do:

• Collaborate with the company’s leadership to develop and execute the LATAM strategy.
• Identify and recruit top-tier data engineers to form the core of our LATAM team.
• Foster a culture of excellence and collaboration within the team.
• Guide the team in utilizing modern tools such as Snowflake, Databricks, Fivetran, and dbt.
• Lead a portfolio of managed services and migrations for clients.
• Build and manage relationships with our existing client base and explore new opportunities in the LATAM market.
• Cultivate partnerships with universities and innovation centers to bolster Aimpoint Digital’s brand growth.
• Oversee the P&L for the LATAM region.

Who We Are Looking For:

We are searching for a motivated individual with an entrepreneurial mindset eager to make a mark in the Latin American market. As the Head of Data Engineering Services – LATAM, you will play a crucial role in shaping the company’s strategic growth. Key qualifications include:

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of consulting or related field experience.
• 8+ years of proven track record of building and managing successful teams.
• Strong English written and verbal communication skills (C1-C2 Level) 
• Experience managing stakeholders and collaborating with US-based customers.
• Robust network within the region, including clients and analytics professionals.
• Expertise in cloud data warehouses, ETL/ELT tools, and cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in relational databases, query languages, and data modeling.
• Knowledge of software engineering concepts, best practices, and/or DevOps.
• Desirable for the position: 
• Strong coding skills in Python, Scala, Java, or similar languages.
• Experience preparing data for analytics and following a data science workflow.
