Junior Accountant
Our team in Brazil continues to grow. We are currently seeking a Junior Accountant to join our local team. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with experience in general accounting, tax compliance, and corporate support processes, who enjoys working with multiple clients and is eager to develop within a dynamic, collaborative, and multicultural environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accounting records, financial statements, and financial reports in accordance with legal accounting standards and applicable principles (CPCs and IFRS).
- Perform bank reconciliations and ledger reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified during reconciliation processes.
- Prepare and post accounting entries and provisions.
- Analyze results by cost center.
- Issue invoices.
- Calculate direct and indirect taxes under different tax regimes.
- Process payroll and related payroll taxes (FGTS, INSS, IRRF).
- Prepare and submit ancillary obligations (E-social, SPED, REINF, and other filings before Federal, State, and Municipal authorities).
- Support incorporation, amendment, and termination processes of companies before fiscal authorities and Boards of Commerce.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure timely delivery, high-quality service, and effective communication with clients.
- Perform other accounting-related activities as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll support.
- Knowledge of International Accounting Standards (CPCs and IFRS).
- Knowledge of SISCOMEX and Transfer Pricing regulations.
- Experience handling incorporation, amendment, or termination of companies before fiscal authorities.
- Experience supporting monthly closings and performing reconciliations.
- Knowledge of direct and indirect tax calculations.
- Intermediate level of English and/or Spanish.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Strong planning, coordination, and organizational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines efficiently.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in HR, Payroll, or Finance functions.
- Experience calculating taxes such as IRPJ, CSLL, PIS, COFINS, ISS, ICMS, ICMS-ST, DIFAL, among others.
- Experience with Lucro Real and Lucro Presumido tax regimes.
- Updated knowledge of Tax Reform and related changes.
- Experience with consolidation and equity equivalence calculations.
- Knowledge of Corporate, Tax, and Labor Law.
- Experience with accounting and payroll software (e.g., MAKRO, TOTVS, Domínio, SAP, among others).
- Experience in importation and nationalization processes.
