Junior Accountant

About the Role
We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join our team in Bogotá. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and proactive professional who is ready to take ownership of core accounting processes while continuing to develop their technical expertise.

You will be responsible for executing key accounting activities, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and contributing to the preparation of accurate financial information in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accounting records and financial reports
• Update and ensure accuracy of financial statements
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Perform bank and account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies
• Execute payroll calculations and manage monthly payroll updates
• Prepare and support the submission of national and local tax filings (e.g., VAT, withholding tax)
• Manage electronic invoicing processes in compliance with local regulations
• Compile, analyze, and validate financial information for reporting purposes
• Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and tax requirements
• Collaborate with the accounting team to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality deliverables

Requirements

• Technical degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
• 2+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Hands-on experience using SIIGO accounting software
• Experience with electronic invoicing processes
• Practical knowledge of payroll calculations
• Experience supporting or preparing tax filings (VAT, withholding tax, etc.)
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills
• Proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional training or coursework in payroll or taxation
• Experience in high-volume or multi-client accounting environments
• Knowledge of local accounting standards (IFRS or local GAAP)
• Strong teamwork and adaptability skills
• Interest in continuing to grow within an accounting career path
