QA Engineer (Manual Focus)

Our Client is looking for a QA Engineer based in Costa Rica to work closely with U.S.-based Engineering and Product teams. You will perform hands-on manual and exploratory testing across APIs, UI, and system workflows, helping ensure the quality and reliability of a cutting-edge cyber range platform. Collaboration is key, as you will work daily in real time with engineers, product managers, and designers to identify risk early and contribute to release readiness. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, curious, and proactive in driving quality throughout the development lifecycle.

What you’ll be doing:
- Performing manual and exploratory testing across new and existing features
- Developing clear, structured test plans and test cases
- Identifying edge cases, integration gaps, and failure scenarios
- Writing detailed and reproducible bug reports
- Reproducing and investigating customer-reported issues
- Partnering with engineers early in the development process to improve testability
- Contributing to release readiness and regression testing
- Using modern tools, including AI-assisted workflows, to accelerate test design and coverage
Languages and Tools we use:
- API testing tools, UI testing tools, CI-based environments, AI-assisted testing workflows
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in software QA or software testing
- Strong manual and exploratory testing skills
- Experience testing APIs and user interfaces
- Experience working in agile, CI-based environments
- Clear and professional written and verbal English communication
- Ability to work effectively in a nearshore model with U.S.-based teams
Nice to have:
- Experience with basic automation tools or scripting
- Familiarity with distributed systems, networking, or cloud environments
- Experience using AI tools to improve productivity in testing workflows
- Based in Costa Rica with availability to collaborate in real time with U.S. teams
