Senior Accountant

About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in Mexico. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and proactive professional with strong experience in accounting, tax compliance, and team leadership. You will play a key role in managing accounting operations, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and delivering high-quality financial services to clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support accounting operations, including oversight of assigned accounting team members
• Plan and prepare financial reports (e.g., Athos, ITS, Cash Flow)
• Ensure timely execution of deliverables in accordance with quality standards
• Prepare, review, and maintain accurate accounting records and financial statements
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and legal requirements
• Prepare and review monthly and annual tax filings for clients and local authorities
• Coordinate with external parties (e.g., translators, notaries) for regulatory procedures (RNIE, IMSS, SAT, etc.)
• Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified during reconciliations
• Process payroll and calculate related taxes (ISN, IMSS, Infonavit, Fonacot)
• Prepare and submit tax returns to SAT (monthly and annual)
• Maintain effective communication with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and timely service delivery
• Provide guidance and clearly communicate accounting concepts to team members
• Support additional tasks as required by management

Requirements

• Spanish (Native) and English (Basic)
• 5–10 years of relevant accounting experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
• Strong knowledge of Mexican accounting and tax regulations
• Experience preparing financial statements and tax filings
• Experience with payroll processing and related tax calculations
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Team leadership and communication skills
