Accountant
About the Role
We are looking for an Accountant to join our team in Mexico. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and organized professional with solid experience in accounting and tax compliance. You will support day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accuracy in financial records, and contribute to delivering high-quality services to clients in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute day-to-day accounting operations and support financial reporting (e.g., Athos, ITS, Cash Flow)
- Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks in line with deadlines and quality standards
- Prepare and maintain accounting records, including financial statements and related reports
- Assist in the preparation and review of monthly and annual tax filings
- Coordinate with external parties (e.g., translators, notaries) for procedures with RNIE, IMSS, SAT, etc.
- Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
- Record and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in accounting records
- Support payroll processing and calculation of related taxes (ISN, IMSS, Infonavit)
- Prepare and submit tax returns to SAT (monthly and annual)
- Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure timely and high-quality client service
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, compliance, and professionalism in all tasks
- Communicate accounting information clearly and effectively
Requirements
- Spanish (Native) and English (Basic)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
- Relevant experience in accounting and tax compliance (5 years)
- Knowledge of Mexican accounting and tax regulations
- Experience preparing financial records and supporting tax filings
- Familiarity with payroll processes and related taxes
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with accounting systems and financial tools
- Exposure to working with multiple clients or in a professional services environment
- Basic knowledge of financial reporting and analysis
